Education & Digital Learning

Bringing children back to the classroom — and keeping them there.
Education has been the entry point for RODS since 2004. In the villages of Mosaboni, Ghatshila and Dumaria, children enrolled and then quietly disappeared from school — pulled away by migration, farm work or a classroom that felt far from home. Our education programmes identify those children, bridge the learning gap, and reintegrate them into the formal system.
- Around 110 dropout boys and girls mainstreamed through the residential bridge course
- 36 out-of-school children returned to the formal system through NRBC centres
- 400 non-literate adults made literate across 10 literacy centres in Mosaboni Block
Our Education Initiatives
Residential Bridge Course (RBC)
Out-of-school and dropout children are enrolled in a residential centre where intensive remedial teaching, life skills education and a child-friendly environment prepare them for re-entry into formal school.
- Structured bridge curriculum with academic mentoring
- Boarding, nutrition and health support during the course
- Placement back into age-appropriate classes on completion
Non-Residential Bridge Course (NRBC)
Community-based learning centres deliver the same remedial support without taking children away from home, combined with community mobilisation so that families keep children enrolled.
- Daily learning sessions inside the child’s own village
- Parent and community awareness on the value of schooling
- Follow-up after re-enrolment to prevent repeat dropout
NPEGEL — Education for Girls at Elementary Level
Focused support for girls in educationally backward blocks: additional learning inputs, material support and confidence building so that girls complete elementary education.
- Model cluster school support for girls
- Learning material, uniforms and vocational inputs
- Community advocacy against early dropout of girls
Adult Literacy Centres
Functional literacy for non-literate adults — reading, writing and numeracy for everyday life, so that learners can read a form, sign their own name and check a calculation without depending on anyone.
- Literacy centres run within walking distance of learners
- Practical content: bank forms, scheme documents, measurements
- Independent access to schemes, banking and healthcare
