Horticulture and Timber Plantation Programme for Tribal and Scheduled Caste Communities
Past Project
Mosaboni, Dumaria, and Ghatsila Blocks, East Singhbhum District, Jharkhand
Funded by: MESO, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand
About the Project
Promoted sustainable livelihoods among Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste communities across 7 villages in Mosaboni, 6 in Dumaria, and 3 in Ghatsila Block. Approximately 150 acres of upland and underutilized land were developed through plantation of fruit-bearing horticultural species and timber trees, with technical guidance for beneficiary families.
Impact
Transformed unproductive uplands into income-generating assets, providing regular income from fruit sales and long-term economic security from timber. Strengthened financial resilience, reduced dependency on seasonal wage labour, and contributed to soil conservation and biodiversity.
